Stockholm is a bunch of islands, but I don't expect to spend time on the beach. Yet the days will be about 18 Hours long so....

there are tons of things to do. if you want to get closer to the nature and go for a "geography" tour, Grand Canyon and Yosemite national park are a good choice. Theme parks in LA such as universal studio, disneyland and magic mountain are good places to visit as well. LA Vegas for casinos, shows and buffets are good all year round.
For beaches, personally i love the one at Santa Monica in LA. There are some many activites for you to do over there - swimming, surfing, volleyball, biking and more.
Hope the above information is useful.

Forget about any hotel on Jamiaca ave. Thats not really a safe area. If you need to be near JFK, why not look at the Ramada Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn. You all can take a taxi into NYC.

Yes. They've really cleaned things up in the past 10-20 years. I've been there many times, and never stay on the fenced-in resorts. I've never even felt threatened, much less unsafe. I love it there.

My friend, the link below will be very helpful. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-…
Now, in regard to resturants in the Jamaica area of Queens, NY, well, you can forget about it. There not the many resturants in that area, except for fast food establishments.
In regard to the subway, the trip from Jamaica to Penn Station is 45 minutes and fare is $4 round trip. However, since you're in town for 5 days, you can buy a weekly unlimited ride metro for $25 a person and you can ride the subway and bus system as many time as you want with in that week.
I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck and enjoy.
